Privacy Policy — Body Tracker

Body Tracker is a private diary for tracking your body weight and progress photos over time.

Body Tracker has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Your entries, photos and weights never leave your device. The app contains no networking code of any kind — it cannot send your information anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to send it to.

This policy explains what the app stores, where it is kept, and the choices you have.

What Body Tracker stores

Everything you put into the app is stored on your device only:

Progress photos — up to four per entry (front, left, back, right), plus the collages and thumbnails generated from them
Body weight — the value you enter, or the one suggested by Apple Health if you turn that on
Dates and notes you add to an entry
Your first name, if you choose to enter one — used only to say hello on the new-entry screen
Your settings — image quality, collage style, units, background, reminder schedule

This information is held in Body Tracker's own private folder on your device, which other apps cannot read. It is included in your device's encrypted backup — including iCloud Backup, if you have that turned on. That backup is between you and Apple; Body Tracker is not involved in it and cannot read it.

What Body Tracker does not do

No user accounts, and no sign-in
No servers, no cloud storage, no syncing
No analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking of any kind
No third-party SDKs — the app is built entirely on Apple's own frameworks
Nothing is ever sold or shared with anyone

Apple Health

If you turn on the Health settings, Body Tracker will:

Read your most recent body weight, so you do not have to type it in
Write the weights you log back to Health, so your other apps stay in step

Body Tracker only ever reads and writes body weight. It requests no other health data. This happens only after you grant permission in the Health permission sheet, and you can withdraw it at any time in the Health app under Sources, or in iOS Settings.

Health data is never used for advertising or data mining, never shared with anyone, and never leaves your device. You can use the whole app without granting Health access at all.

Camera and photos

Camera — used to take your progress photos. They are saved into Body Tracker's private folder, not to your camera roll.
Photo library (reading) — only when you choose "Choose from library" to import an existing photo into an entry.
Photo library (saving) — only when you explicitly ask to save a collage, a set of images or a time-lapse. The app requests add-only access, meaning it can add the file you asked for and cannot read the rest of your library.

Notifications

If you set a reminder, it is a local notification scheduled on your device by the app. Nothing is sent through Apple's push servers or through us, and the reminder deliberately says nothing about your weight or your progress.

Deleting your data

Delete an individual entry from the Diary screen — its photos and collage go with it
Settings ▸ Storage ▸ Remove unused files clears any media no longer attached to an entry
Deleting the app removes everything it holds. There is no copy anywhere else, so please export anything you want to keep first

If you have iCloud Backup switched on, a copy may remain in your own iCloud backup until that backup is replaced or deleted. That is managed by you in iOS Settings.

Children

Body Tracker is not directed at children. It is a record-keeping tool intended for adults tracking their own body over time.

A note on what this app is for

Body Tracker is a record-keeping tool, not medical advice, and it is not designed for rapid weight loss. If tracking your weight or your body is causing you distress, please talk to your doctor or a qualified professional.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it. Because the app holds no data of yours outside your device, changes here will be about clarity rather than about new uses of your information.
